Just yesterday, our valued client visited our production factory and accompanied our technical team to complete full-range raw material testing for foam filled fenders, covering three core raw materials: inner closed-cell foam core, outer PU protective skin, and reinforced nylon filament for surface wrapping reinforcement. Every tested index of the three key materials outperforms mainstream industrial standards- ASTM and PIANC for marine fenders, laying a solid material foundation for long-term stable product performance.
During the on-site inspection, our technicians carried out targeted professional tests respectively. For closed-cell foam core, we completed foam density, breaking strength test, tensile strength test, compression test, permanent compression set test
and compressive strength test. Qualified foam features independent closed-cell structure, high energy absorption and outstanding elastic recovery after repeated compression, avoiding permanent deformation under frequent ship berthing impact.
The outer PU skin went through tensile strength, tear resistance, tensile strength, breaking strength tests.Our customized PU material boasts excellent seawater corrosion and oil resistance, capable of standing harsh coastal high-salt spray environment all year round without cracking or peeling.
Meanwhile, nylon reinforcement thread was tested on tensile strength and breaking strength according to PIANC 2024. High-strength effectively locks PU outer layer and foam core as an integrated whole, preventing outer skin separation under long-term friction and collision with vessel hulls. All measured parameters surpass the threshold values stipulated by common international and domestic marine fender industry specifications, fully verifying our strict raw material access standards.
